Renovation of a Kitchen, Portobello, Edinburgh
The existing kitchen in this early Victorian house was in a poor state, the room had a low ceiling and the existing roof lights were only visible from the loft.
Capital A gained Listed Building consent from Edinburgh Council to modernise the existing roof-lights. The ceiling was then removed and the room was transformed, becoming bright and airy. This increase in height and light allowed the client to specify a daring, modern kitchen which compliments the space.
What was once a dark pantry, used for preparing food, is now the centre of family life.
CLIENT: Private BUDGET: £20,000 + VAT. LOCATION: Brunstane Road, Edinburgh. STATUS: Complete June 2012. PHOTOS: SQFT
