March 2020

This property in Edinburgh New Town was built in 1822 and when our client bought it in 2018 it needed extensive work. The layout was not suitable for modern life and a new design, requiring structural alterations, was required.

We successfully applied for listed building consent for the alterations, which included moving the kitchen to overlook the street and the creation of new ensuite bathrooms for two bedrooms.
The flat required a full re-wire, new heating system and drainage installed. The walls, floor, doors, windows and ceilings were stripped back and rebuilt or refurbished to a modern standard. Capital A worked with the builder during construction and ensured this project was finished to the highest standard. The interior is now one of the best flats in Edinburgh New Town.

The project was complete in early 2020, just before COVID Lockdown. The photographs were taken in summer 2022, when the property was put on the market.
